Cube Info

GAMECUBEs Come Early!

It has been confirmed that Nintendo has shipped their Cubes early, and stores are allowed to sell them as soon as they arrive.  This means that some major retailers could be selling them as soon as TODAY!  So pry your hands from the keyboard and call Wal-Mart or something!

However, some retail supervisors may be unaware of this change, as Nintendo is not actively informing stores, so if they say they can't, politely ask them to call their Nintendo Rep.  And even then, the Reps may not be aware of the change either, so, ask them to call their supervisors, politely mind you.

Now, if you're still reading this, get off your ass and call a store!

No Square for Cube

It looks like we won't be seeing any Square/Nintendo relationships anytime soon because of past conflicts with Square and Nintendo, caused by Square.

In 1997 when Squaresoft announced it was taking Final Fantasy over to the Playstation. Hiroshi Yamauchi, the president of Nintendo, accepted it and said that it couldn't be helped.  Then, Square insulted the Nintendo 64, causing Enix to move to the Playstation also.  Further hurting their relationship with Nintendo

And now, the president of Squaresoft, Nao Suzuki, says he regrets his decision to move, but only after Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within floundered did he admit that.  It would be in Square's benefit to create games for Nintendo, the GB Advance to be specific, as Advance is one of the dominant presences in the Japanese market.  Therefore allowing them to reclaim some lost funds.  But Hiroshi Yamauchi doesn't seem to want to let Square in and is making them pay for their earlier actions.

Regretfully, it seems like we won't be seeing any Final Fantasy games any time soon on the Cube.

GAMECUBE, Bigger Than It Seems

Nintendo has reportedly taken 70 000 GAMECUBE pre-orders.  This is rather amazing because Nintendo hasn't even begun to promote it's system aggressively.

GAMECUBE Keytroller

Keytroller is what I call this strange looking contraption you see below.  Obviously it's a keyboard with the regular GCN controller handles on the side.

Forget multiplayer at home, this baby represents a whole lot of possibilities when it comes to online gaming.  This Keytroller will make it easier to play online games such as Phantasy Star Online.  The Keyboard/Controller is being created by ASC|| and the date that it will be released is still unknown.
